Why is Goodwill Hunting controversial?

What is my opinion on Goodwill hunting?
I think it is a good alternative to killing the animal if it is not done too often, if an area has too many poachers I believe it would be good to attempt to tranquilizer darts instead of killing the animal. However, I believe it isn't nice for the animals to have humans trying to constantly shoot it and be dominant over the animal even if it gets a medical checkup in return. After considering all of the pros and cons of goodwill hunting, my opinion on it is that it is good because it doesn't actually kill the animal that is being hunted, however, it is very bad in comparison to not hunting animals at all for trophy, sport or other non-survival reasons.
